LACHAU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, made a stop in Pekan Lachau this morning to enjoy breakfast with local leaders and residents from the Pantu District.

The couple was warmly welcomed upon arrival by Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, and his wife Datin Simba Nalang, Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang, Pantu District Officer Raca Mulong, community leader Penghulu Lee Thong Sen, and other local leaders.

The brief stopover drew much attention from the local community, who took the opportunity to greet and take photographs with the Head of State and his wife.

During the visit, Wan Junaidi also inspected a proposed new site for traders’ stalls in the bazaar while mingling with local vendors offering a variety of agricultural produce.

He expressed hope that the development of the new site could be realised to provide more comfortable and suitable facilities for local traders.

The warm atmosphere throughout the visit not only strengthened community ties but also allowed local leaders to convey feedback directly to the Head of State.

Wan Junaidi and his wife later continued their journey to Simanggang, where they were scheduled to officiate at the closing of the 22nd Benak Festival at the Batang Lupar Waterfront in the afternoon.
