MUKAH: Quick-thinking residents teamed up with the Civil Defence Force (APM) to capture a massive 11.4-foot-long python at Kampung Tutus Hilir last night (Sept 22).

It is understood that the residents had spotted the reptile slithering into the front yard of a house around 9pm before alerting the APM for further assistance.

Mukah APM district officer Capt Zuriza Sharkawi said a three-man team was quickly dispatched to the scene, about 3km away.

With the help of members of the public, the team managed to secure the reptile using special equipment and the clamping technique.

The python was later taken back to the APM operations centre for further action.

The team ended the operation at 9.28 pm.
