BINTULU: An early morning fire razed a house to the ground at Jalan Kampung Baru here today, with no casualties reported.
The blaze involved two permanent-structure houses, with one of them – a single-storey unit measuring 40×40 feet – completely destroyed.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said an emergency call was received at 4:36 am, and firemen from the Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control using water from a nearby hydrant.
Meanwhile, the operation ended after the situation was declared safe.
