SERIAN: A total of RM43 million has been allocated under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) to construct a new road network from Kampung Mentung Mara-u to Kampung Mayang Kawan and Kampung Pulau Piranuk here.
Kedup Assemblyman, Datuk Martin Ben, said that the road is expected to reduce travel time between the villages.
“With this, it is hoped that more opportunities will be opened up for the exploration of new land and commercial crop activities,” he said in his speech during the Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat event, and the appointment ceremony for community chiefs and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) certificates handover ceremony at Kampung Pulau Piranuk here recently.
Meanwhile, Martin urged the local community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK) and members of the JKKK to carry out their roles and responsibilities with full commitment to ensure that all infrastructure and basic development plans can be implemented smoothly and effectively.
He added that close cooperation between community leaders, elected representatives, and heads of government departments is crucial to streamline the application and implementation process of every development project.
During the event, he also pledged RM20,000 to Kampung Pulau Piranuk’s JKKK to support community activities and village development.
