KUCHING: A local man was killed after being trapped in a stone crusher machine at a premix processing plant along Ibraco Jalan Expressway this morning (Oct 7).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the victim has been identified as Syahmizi Abu Bakar, 37.
Firefighters from Kota Sentosa station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 9.40 am.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the victim was trapped inside the machine. They attempted to remove the victim by loosening the machine’s fan section but was unsuccessful.
Firefighters, together with workers at the site, then pushed the fan structure, and the victim was finally freed at 11.33 am.
Paramedics later confirmed that the victim had died at the scene.
His remains were handed over to the police for further action.
