KUCHING: The spirit of compassion and togetherness filled Rumah Seri Kenangan as Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin led a visit in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, bringing festive warmth to the elderly residents.
Yap was accompanied by members of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kota Sentosa Branch Women’s Section, community leaders, and local councillors.
The delegation presented mooncakes and essential household items to the residents, symbolising care, gratitude, and unity during this meaningful season of reunion.
Yap expressed his deep appreciation to the management and caregivers of Rumah Seri Kenangan for their continuous dedication to providing care and comfort to the elderly.
“The Mid-Autumn Festival is not only a time for reunion and gratitude but also a reminder of the importance of compassion and community spirit in building a caring and inclusive society.”
He added that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to ensure that senior citizens and underprivileged groups are not forgotten, particularly during festive occasions that celebrate unity and shared humanity.
