KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian award-winning craft beer brand, PaperKite, has officially partnered with Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, in a strategic collaboration aimed at elevating the craft beer experience by bringing together local brewing excellence and international hospitality standards.

The partnership was unveiled during a celebratory event held at the crown of Merdeka 118, Asia Pacific’s tallest tower, where PaperKite marked a historic milestone – winning the World Beer Award for three consecutive years (2023-2025).

This achievement has cemented PaperKite’s position as a trailblazer in Malaysia’s craft beer industry.

Through the collaboration, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will introduce PaperKite’s award-winning brews to its guests, offering a premium setting that highlights Malaysian craftsmanship on the global stage.

The partnership reflects a shared vision of celebrating local talent, culture and innovation, while delivering a refined, immersive experience to both Malaysians and international visitors.

Founder, Alvin Lim, said PaperKite has always been about more than just brewing; it is about crafting stories and experiences that reflect local pride with global standards.

“Our collaboration with Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur allows us to share our craft, our culture, and our pride with more people while inspiring other Malaysian brands to pursue excellence beyond borders,” he said.

Echoing this sentiment, Herman Kemp, General Manager of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, said the partnership is a toast to Malaysia’s finest homegrown brews combined with world-class hospitality.

“At Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, we believe in creating authentic experiences for our guests, allowing them to enjoy the best of every moment.

“Partnering with PaperKite lets us celebrate local talent and creativity by giving our guests a taste of a truly world-class local craft beer,” he said.

The announcement was complemented by a curated beer and chocolate pairing session, offering guests an engaging, sensory exploration of three of PaperKite’s award-winning beer styles paired with creations from Cacao Mixology & Chocolate.

The experience showcased how the partnership goes beyond a simple business arrangement; it is also about celebrating artistry, craftsmanship, and connection.

Founded in 2022, PaperKite has quickly grown from a local start-up into an internationally recognised brand.

Drawing inspiration from local culture and identity, and backed by a fully Malaysian team, the brewery has distinguished itself in a field long dominated by international players.

In doing so, it has helped to elevate Malaysia’s profile in the global craft beer scene.

PaperKite’s dedication to quality and innovation has been consistently recognised at the World Beer Awards, where it became the first Malaysian craft brewery to win medals three years in a row.

The brand currently offers six locally brewed beer styles – IPA, Copper Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Pale Ale, Hoppy Lager and Witbier – crafted for modern drinkers seeking authentic flavours and new experiences.

More than just a commercial venture, the partnership between PaperKite and Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur represents a meeting of values – a celebration of Malaysian craftsmanship presented through the lens of luxury hospitality.

By integrating local brews into one of the country’s most prestigious hotel brands, both parties are setting a new benchmark for how Malaysian products can be experienced, appreciated, and elevated.
