KUCHING: Sekolah Tunas Bakti, a rehabilitation centre for juvenile offenders, run by the Department of Welfare here, held its Grand Assembly II 2025 with great enthusiasm and inspiration.
The assembly began with a series of engaging activities designed to promote collaboration, discipline and resilience.
In his speech, chairman of the School Visitors’ Board Zasran Abdullah expressed his appreciation to the school’s management for the invitation and emphasised the importance of such gatherings.
“Assemblies like this are more than just routine – they are vital platforms to instil a sense of unity and to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our inmates,” he said during the assembly recently.
Zasran also congratulated the inmates for their excellent performances during the pre-assembly activities, held earlier that morning.
“Success is not measured by victory alone but also by effort, discipline, perseverance and the drive for continuous self-improvement,” he added.
He further encouraged the inmates to keep striving for a brighter future, reminding them of their immense potential and the role of strong moral values in shaping personal identity.
Zasran also reaffirmed the Visitors’ Board’s commitment to supporting the school’s mission of creating a nurturing environment for both character and academic growth for the inmates.
Earlier in her welcoming remarks, deputy principal Suliana Jeryin extended her heartfelt gratitude to the Visitors’ Board for their unwavering support, especially in contributing prizes and resources for the events.
She also congratulated the inmates who excelled in the morning activities, which included the Principal’s Futsal Tournament Challenge Trophy that promoted sportsmanship and teamwork, the Poco-Poco Dance Competition that showcased creativity and collective spirit and the Push-Up Challenge that demonstrated outstanding physical and mental strength.
Winners of these activities were honoured with prizes presented by Zasran.
The Grand Assembly II 2025 concluded on a high note, leaving inmates inspired and motivated to continue their journey of self-improvement and excellence so that they could secure the opportunity of early release.
