LUNDU: Residents of Kampung Temaga Melayu in Zone 11 Sebako and Kampung Sedemak here will benefit from a series of government-approved development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and community facilities.

Opar’s State Assemblyman, Billy Sujang, said the projects are part of the Sarawak Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen rural facilities and enhance community well-being across the Opar constituency.

“For Kampung Temaga Melayu, we will upgrade the community hall with RM300,000, the mosque with RM250,000, the village drainage system with RM200,000, and the futsal court with RM80,000,” he said during the Corporate Social Responsibility programme at the village on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in Kampung Sedemak, he added that the agricultural road will be upgraded at a cost of RM700,000 to facilitate movement of residents and agricultural produce, while a culvert worth RM150,000 will be built to improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding in low-lying areas.

Billy said many more projects are planned across the constituency to further enhance living conditions and infrastructure.

“I also encourage residents to work with the Village Development and Security Committees to explore opportunities to develop communal recreational areas for everyone to enjoy,” he added.

He expressed his appreciation for all parties involved in the initiatives, describing such programmes as vital in fostering community unity and public welfare.
