BAU: A 41-year-old man was killed while a woman sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash near SK Jagoi here on Saturday morning.
The accident involved a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said a distress call was received at 6:29 am and a team from the Bau station was dispatched to the scene, located about 11 km away.
The woman was rescued by members of the public and sent to the hospital by the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), while the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, was extricated by firefighters.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
