KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan chaired the Sarawak Bumiputera Economic Council (MEB-Sarawak) meeting on Saturday.

The meeting highlighted Sarawak’s commitment to enhancing bumiputera participation not only in numbers, but also in capacity, quality, competitiveness, and resilience to meet current and future economic challenges.

Key presentations at the meeting included the Draft Terms of Reference (TOR) for MEB-Sarawak, the 3-7-20 Strategic Framework, and the Sarawak Bumiputera Economic Action Plan 2035.

The Action Plan provides a comprehensive framework to coordinate policies and initiatives for bumiputera socio-economic development, covering entrepreneurship, education, human capital development, equity ownership, and participation in high-value sectors.

Through targeted implementation, Sarawak seeks to ensure bumiputera communities gain not only opportunities but also the skills, access, and influence to become key drivers of the state’s economic growth.
