ACTRESS and entrepreneur Rozita Che Wan, better known as Che Ta, has spoken out about the issue of school bullying, revealing that her eldest son, Ammar Effendy, was once a victim during his time at the Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM).

The 52-year-old star said Ammar experienced bullying incidents while studying at MRSM Pasir Salak and later at MRSM Kuantan.

“The problem with school bullying stems from the mentality of students who like to fight just to act tough or prove who’s more powerful.

My son Ammar was bullied when he was 15 at MRSM Pasir Salak, and even after transferring to MRSM Kuantan, the bullying continued,” she shared.

Concerned for her son’s well-being, Che Ta eventually transferred Ammar to a regular school, where he performed well academically before enrolling at Kolej Yayasan Saad in Melaka, which she said had no cases of bullying.

Turning her attention to her youngest daughter, Aaisyah Dhia Rana, 11, Che Ta said she currently studies at an international school and has not encountered any bullying incidents so far.

“I do get anxious about Aaisyah’s safety whenever I hear about bullying cases in schools.

We never know how some students might behave — especially those who might tease celebrity children — but thankfully, Aaisyah’s international school environment has been fine so far.

At the moment, she’s being homeschooled and will return to school next year,” she said.

The actress added that she has no objections if Aaisyah decides to continue with homeschooling in the future.

“I’m perfectly fine with her being homeschooled — it feels safer, and we have qualified teachers coming to the house.

There’s even an ustazah who teaches her to recite the Quran at home,” she added.

Earlier, Che Ta expressed concern over the rising cases of school bullying and juvenile crime, saying she is considering permanent homeschooling for Aaisyah as a safety measure.
