KUCHING: Scouts Sarawak has further strengthened its international connections within the global Scouting movement following a successful official visit to Hong Kong and Macau from 25 to 29 October 2025.

The delegation, led by Chief Scout Commissioner of Sarawak, John Lim, took part in the Hong Kong Scout Rally 2025 on October 26, an event that gathered Scouts and leaders from across the region to celebrate unity, leadership, and service – the core principles of Scouting.

Joining Lim were Deputy Chief Commissioner Iu Chu Heng, Assistant Chief Commissioners Jeremy Sim, Fong Voon Chon and Ting Wei Shun, who also serves as the Chairman of the King Scout Brotherhood, Sarawak.

During the rally, the Sarawak delegation met with Dr Wilson Lai Wai-sang, Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Hong Kong.

The meeting focused on leadership training, youth empowerment, and cross-border cooperation, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to nurturing young leaders who embody the values of responsibility, resilience and fellowship.

Following the rally, the delegation continued their visit to Macau, where they met with the Macau Scout Commissioner to explore future collaborations, including exchange programmes and joint cultural activities.

Reflecting on the visit, Lim expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by both the Hong Kong and Macau Scout Associations.

“This trip provided invaluable opportunities for learning and sharing experiences with our international counterparts.

“It not only strengthened our partnerships but also inspired us to continue developing future Scout leaders in Sarawak who will contribute to the global Scouting community,” Lim said in a statement.

The five-day visit underscored Scouts Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to fostering international understanding, leadership development, and the spirit of brotherhood among Scouts.

Through such exchanges, Scouts Sarawak continues to play a vital role in promoting the Scouting mission of peace, service and unity beyond borders.
