KUCHING: John Cosmas Gugot, former news editor of The Borneo Post, passed away early today (Nov 4).
He was 71.
His son, Samuel Aubrey told Sarawak Tribune that his father drew his last breath at 12.16 am at the Sarawak Heart Centre in Kota Samarahan.
John, a native of Kampung Bunan Gega in Serian, retired in March after nearly 15 years of service at The Borneo Post.
Before joining the media, he worked at Shell Timur Sdn Bhd and also ran his own business.
John’s funeral will be held at St Jude Church, Bunan Gega, with burial at the church cemetery tomorrow (Nov 5).
He is survived by his wife, Jean Muning Kang, and their three children.
