PUTRAJAYA: Seat allocation negotiations between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the 17th Sabah State Election have been finalised.
There will be no clashes between the two coalitions, said PH Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said discussions between PH and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) are also almost fully concluded, except for one seat that remains under consideration by both parties.
“We still have time before nomination day on November 15, and I am confident the matter can be resolved,” he said at a press conference after attending the Wira MADANI Tour Programme at the Putrajaya District Police Headquarters here today.
The Wira MADANI Tour Programme, an initiative introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to express the government’s appreciation for security personnel under the Home Ministry (KDN), including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, and Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus.
The programme also featured exhibitions and the presentation of back-to-school aid to 500 children of police personnel.
“We can see this programme has had a positive impact, so, insya-Allah, it will be expanded further next year,” said Saifuddin Nasution. – BERNAMA
