MIRI: The outpatient and dental services at UTC Miri will be temporarily relocated for more than a month starting Nov 8 to enable a planned upgrade of facilities and service infrastructure.
The Miri Divisional Health Office confirmed that the renovation works are aimed at improving patient experience, expanding service capacity and ensuring a safer operational environment for both staff and patients. Only maternal and child health services will remain available at the UTC clinic during the renovation period.
Patients who require regular outpatient or dental care are advised to seek treatment at Jalan Merbau Health Clinic and Bandaraya Miri Health Clinic, as well as Jalan Merbau Dental Clinic and Bandaraya Miri Dental Clinic for dental services. These facilities are prepared to support the redirected caseload.
The Health Office acknowledged the service disruption but emphasised that the upgrades are part of a longer-term strategy to strengthen public healthcare delivery in Miri. The clinics are targeted to resume full operations on Dec 15.
