HAILING from Limbang, Sarawak, and proudly of Orang Ulu heritage, Gebriel Padan made history when he was bestowed one of the highest honours by the Selangor Palace: he was appointed as the official makeup artist for the Royal Couple, His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Selangor, and Her Highness Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz, in conjunction with their Royal Wedding Ceremony held recently.
For Gebriel, this appointment is not merely a recognition of talent, but a priceless blessing marking a milestone in his career as a makeup artist.
“Never once did I imagine that a boy from the rural heart of Borneo would one day step into a palace, let alone be entrusted with the honour of adorning the Royal Bride. It’s an experience I will treasure for a lifetime,” expressed Gebriel with heartfelt gratitude.
With over 15 years of experience in the makeup industry, Gebriel views this opportunity as both an immense responsibility and a historic highlight of his artistic journey. He hopes his story will serve as an inspiration to young creatives across Malaysia, proving that dreams have no boundaries when pursued with passion and perseverance.

Through his social media, Gebriel also shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the Royal Wedding preparations, which have since garnered over 1 million views, capturing the nation’s admiration for the elegance, tradition, and artistry that defined the ceremony.
The Royal Wedding Ceremony of His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah and Her Highness Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz took place on October 22, at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, Klang, in a setting steeped in Malay tradition and royal grandeur.
