KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received a courtesy call from the delegation of the Retired Senior Police Officers Association (RESPA) at the Astana here today.

The delegation was led by RESPA President, DCP (Rtd) Datuk Meor Chek Hussien Mahayuddin.

The visit served as an introduction to RESPA’s leadership and committee members, as well as an opportunity to brief Wan Junaidi and wife on the association’s on-going welfare and social initiatives.

During the discussion, the delegation also proposed appointing a RESPA representative from Sarawak to strengthen communication and engagement with the association at the national level.

The Governor expressed appreciation for the contributions of former police officers in safeguarding the nation and the state.

He also suggested that the government continue honouring retired police officers with medals as recognition for their service.

Wan Junaidi and wife wished RESPA continued success in advancing its objectives, particularly in supporting the welfare of its members and fostering camaraderie among retired senior police officers nationwide.
