KUCHING: Andmesh Kamaleng’s first-ever Borneo concert turned Stadium Perpaduan here into an emotional, arena-scale celebration of music, drawing thousands who came to witness the Indonesian star’s powerful live performance on Friday night.

The showcase, titled ‘A Night with Andmesh Kamaleng’, quickly became a night to remember as fans filled the venue with cheers, singing along to every hit.

Andmesh’s commanding vocals and deep emotional delivery anchored the entire show, but it was his performance of ‘Hanya Rindu’ that left the strongest impact.

Visibly overwhelmed as he recalled memories of his late mother, the inspiration behind the song, Andmesh paused as tears streamed down, prompting the crowd to applaud in support.

Adding to the historic moment, Andmesh paid homage to local culture by performing a short segment of the beloved Orang Ulu classic ‘Leleng’, a surprise that sent the audience into loud, appreciative cheers.

The tribute marked another highlight of his debut concert on Borneo soil.

The night opened at 7:15 pm with local acts, Hasty and Zah Amirul, setting the tone, followed by a strong 8:30 pm lineup featuring Sarawak talents, Hairie Francis and Ramles Walter, as well as Sabah’s Gretchen Quirina and Ryenald Guntabid.

Ryenald, fresh from winning Best New Artiste and Best Vocal Performance at AIM 2025, shone as one of the evening’s standout performers.

Zah Amirul later returned for a special appearance, further elevating the pre-Andmesh atmosphere and showcasing the depth of regional talent.

Organised by Wazai Creative Solution (WCS), with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP), along with strategic partners and sponsors, the concert delivered an international-level production to audiences here.

Its pull extended beyond Sarawak, drawing fans from across Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.

Ticket sales surpassed expectations, with 4,000 tickets sold, exceeding organisers’ targets and signalling the strong demand for Andmesh’s long-awaited Borneo debut.
