THE Sarawak government has successfully distributed 10,427 laptops and 4,364 book vouchers to eligible students across all institutions of higher learning in Malaysia as of October this year.
Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said the distribution was made possible through the RM32.5 million allocation approved in the Premier’s budget aimed at supporting students’ learning needs.

He also noted that the Bantuan Kewangan Khas (BKK), or Special Financial Assistance, has delivered substantial support, with RM58.77 million having been disbursed to Yayasan Sarawak.
“To date, 40,378 deserving students who applied and met the eligibility criteria have received the assistance.
“I am pleased to confirm our commitment to extending this assistance throughout 2026,” he said during his ministerial winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting on Monday (Dec 1).
