KUCHING: Potential long-term collaborations to support Sarawak’s socio-economic and cultural development took centre stage when Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy call from Yayasan Hasanah Malaysia at his official residence in Petra Jaya this morning.

The delegation, led by the foundation’s chairman Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, included trustee Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir and managing director Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki.

During the meeting, Yayasan Hasanah outlined its key focus areas namely Education, Community Development, Environment, Arts & Public Spaces, and Knowledge and highlighted ongoing efforts to drive impactful programmes across Malaysia.

Wan Junaidi said the foundation’s mission resonated strongly with Sarawak’s development priorities, particularly in uplifting communities and strengthening institutional support.

He also underscored the importance of cultural conservation, reminding that language, arts and traditions are the roots of identity and must be preserved for future generations.

This, he said, requires collaboration between the government, foundations, educational institutions and local communities.

Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi extended their appreciation to Yayasan Hasanah for its interest in supporting Sarawak’s development agenda.

He expressed confidence that strategic partnerships with the foundation and the Sarawak Government would foster meaningful and sustainable impact for the people.
