THE Sarawak Government has allocated RM7.5 billion to fund 1,064 projects under the state’s regional development agencies.
Deputy Premier and Second Finance and New Economy Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, said the projects, overseen by five agencies, namely the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA), Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA), Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), and Mid-Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA), are aimed at driving inclusive and balanced development across Sarawak.
“As of October 2025, RM186.4 million, representing 37 per cent of the 2025 allocation, has been spent, with 88 projects completed and the remainder at various stages of implementation.
“Additional funding of RM6 billion has been channelled through alternative sources for projects under the Northern Regional Development Agency (NRDA), Highland Development Agency (HDA), Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), and Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA), with RM3.4 billion spent and 664 projects completed,” he said during his ministerial winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.
Uggah also highlighted the ongoing efforts in Rural Transformation Projects (RTP), which have funded over 13,000 initiatives across Sarawak to improve essential infrastructure such as roads, utilities, community facilities, and houses of worship.
“Under the 12MP, RM3.7 billion has been expended, resulting in 9,287 completed projects,” he added.
Uggah further noted that ‘Program Penambahbaikan Rumah Rakyat Miskin Sarawak’ (MRP-PPRMS) provides minor repairs to homes of poor and B40 households, ensuring safe and decent living conditions.
“Since 2018, 64,985 families have benefited, with RM439.3 million spent,” he said.
Uggah also touched on the 12MP federal-funded projects, under which billions have been spent on numerous initiatives to support Sarawak’s economic growth and development priorities.
