KUCHING: The Sarawak government has strengthened the state’s security assets with the handover of 10 Yamaha FJR1300A high-powered motorcycles to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department of the Royal Malaysia Police, Sarawak Contingent.

The handover ceremony was officiated by Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning & Development) Datuk Seri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, who represented State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki at the grounds of Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday (Dec 5).

The motorcycles were received by Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner DCP Saifullizan Ishak.

Speaking to the media, Saifullizan expressed his appreciation for the state government’s contribution of the 10 new motorcycles, noting that they will significantly enhance the performance and effectiveness of traffic operations in Sarawak.

He also underscored the importance of disciplined driving and firm enforcement of road regulations, reminding the public that although Sarawakians are known for their courteous road behaviour, there is always room for improvement in the interest of everyone’s safety.

This contribution marks another step in strengthening the state’s traffic enforcement capability, enabling more efficient road monitoring and more effective enforcement of traffic laws.

In Sept, the government also contributed four Toyota Hilux Double Cab 2.4E four-wheel-drive vehicles to the Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, further enhancing the state’s overall security enforcement capacity.
