MIRI: A minor landslip occurred along the Bukit Bom road near Batu Niah today.

Authorities confirmed there were no casualties.

The incident, was first reported at 6:39 am by a local resident.

Fire and Rescue personnel from BBP Batu Niah were dispatched immediately, arriving on site at 6.46 am.

Operations began promptly at 6.47 am and were brought under control by 7.30 am with the operation concluding at 8.09 am.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the landslip affected a section of a road on a slope.

No injuries were reported, and there was no active movement of soil during monitoring.

The department advised local residents to remain vigilant and to report any further signs of ground movement.

Coordination with other agencies was initiated, with Sarawak Energy notified to handle a fallen utility pole and the Public Works Department (JKR) alerted to manage the displaced soil.

PBK I Jeffery Majin supervised the operation, with a team of six personnel.

The landslip occurred along the route from Niah to Sepupok, a known hilly area, but authorities confirmed that conditions at the time of monitoring were stable.

Residents are advised to exercise caution when travelling along the affected stretch until permanent remediation measures are implemented.

The affected section of Bukit Bom Road is cordoned off as authorities monitor the site for further soil movement.
