KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman, Wilfred Yap Sau Sin, made a final inspection of the completed RM100,000 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) upgrading works at SK Satria Jaya on Tuesday.
The visit was conducted together with Kuching South City Council (MBKS) officers and the contractor, Syahfuan Enterprise, following the full completion of the long-requested upgrading works.
“The parents, teachers and school community raised these concerns directly with me. I listened, secured the funding, and today I came back to verify that the work has indeed been completed properly,” he said.
He said the school had earlier requested the project due to ageing infrastructure and the pressing need to ensure safer and more conducive facilities for students and teachers at the premises.
“Among the completed works were the upgrading of the badminton court, construction of a new gazebo, installation of walkway roofing and several internal classroom improvements across the school environment.
“Other works included classroom repairs and replacement of damaged fittings, along with roof and toilet repairs aimed at ensuring safety and comfort for students and staff.
“Fans and air-conditioning units were also installed to improve learning conditions, especially during hot weather, further enhancing the overall environment within the classrooms,” he elaborated.
“Our children deserve safe, comfortable learning spaces. I will continue to push for more improvements and allocations where needed,”
