KUCHING: The Jingling Christmas Market 2025 is set to bring festive cheer to Sibu and Miri this month, with more than 40 local vendors participating in two weekends of holiday-themed activities organised by the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB).
Returning once more after a strong response to last year’s Twinkling Christmas Market, the event aims to further position STB’s Visitor Information Centres (VICs) as community-friendly spaces beyond its traditional role as information hubs.
The market will take place from December 12 to 14 at the VIC Sibu Heritage Centre and from December 19 to 21 at VIC Garden Miri, operating daily from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
“The Jingling Christmas Market invites families, children and festive-goers to immerse themselves in an experience that blends local creativity, community spirit and the joyful charm of the holiday season.
“Across both cities, visitors can expect an enchanting spread of handmade ornament workshops, community church carolling, interactive treasure hunts, live music sessions, and heartwarming Santa walkabouts complete with festive giveaways,” STB said in a press statement.
Both locations will also feature a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the opening night.
The market will host 30 vendors in Miri and 15 in Sibu, offering a curated mix of handmade crafts, creative products and festive goodies.
STB said the initiative supports Sarawak’s creative micro-entrepreneurs by giving artisans and small businesses a platform to showcase their work and connect directly with the community.
“The Jingling Christmas Market is more than decorations and carols. It’s about strengthening community bonds, giving families a space to celebrate, and reimagining our VICs as lively gathering points where culture, creativity and connection thrive,” said STB Chief Executive Officer, Sharzede Datuk Salleh Askor.
STB encourages the public to visit the VICs with their families and friends to enjoy the festive atmosphere and share wonderful Christmas moments, adding that the event is expected to draw strong turnout and spark vibrant community engagement as the year comes to a close.
