PADAWAN: The Padawan Adventure 4×4 Club Kuching will usher in the New Year with a grand celebration, the Puncak Borneo New Year 2026 Countdown Euphoria, on Dec 31.
The event will be held at an open area near Kampung Tabuan Rabak along Jalan Kampung Mambong/Sarig here and is open to the public free of charge.
Club president Ramces Tawang said the programme will begin as early as 8 am, featuring a series of activities including a 4×4 off-road vehicle display by various 4×4 clubs, a food and beverage bazaar, as well as a karaoke session for visitors who wish to take to the microphone.
In the evening, starting at 7pm, visitors will be entertained by a live band performance featuring the popular R2 Band, along with several invited singers.
Among the highlights of the four-hour evening show will be a performance by Indonesian dangdut singer Siti Shinta, expected to thrill the crowd with her energetic set.
Ramces said Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament Datuk Willie Mongin, who is also the patron of the Padawan Adventure 4×4 Club, will attend as the guest of honour and lead the countdown to 2026 together with community leaders and members of the public.
“The New Year countdown fireworks display, the highlight of the evening, will begin when the clock strikes 12 midnight,” Ramces said.
He also said about 20 stalls selling a variety of food, beverages, fruits and jungle produce will be available at the venue.
