LIMBANG: Members of the public are advised to adhere to the appointment time set by Limbang Hospital to avoid congestion at the Outpatient Department (OPD).
Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia and Limbang MP, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, said that the congestion issue at Limbang Hospital, which previously went viral on social media, was caused by non-compliance with the scheduled appointment system.
He added that some patients arrived as early as 5 am to wait for the queue number counter to open, resulting in longer waiting times and disrupting the hospital’s operational efficiency.
“Public cooperation is very important. If everyone adheres to the scheduled appointment times, healthcare services can be delivered in a more orderly, efficient and comfortable manner,” he said.

He said this while officiating at the Sarawak Annual Mass Circumcision (Sunathon) 2025 for the Limbang Division held at Limbang Hospital on Saturday.
Hasbi stressed that the federal government, the Sarawak government and elected representatives in Limbang remain committed to advocating for the needs of Limbang Hospital for the well-being of the local community.
He explained that the condition of Limbang Hospital is now significantly different compared to the past following various improvements and the phased provision of new facilities.
“Alhamdulillah, today Limbang Hospital has specialist doctor services in several fields for the benefit of Limbang residents, whereas previously many patients had to be referred to Miri Hospital,” he said.
He also emphasised that efforts to strengthen healthcare facilities in Limbang will continue to be enhanced, taking into account Limbang’s geographical location, which is bordered by Brunei Darussalam.
At the same time, he expressed appreciation to the neighbouring country for the good cooperation established, particularly in relation to cross-border movement that benefits the people of both sides.
For the record, the Sarawak Annual Mass Circumcision (Sunathon) 2025 for the Limbang Division, held over two days from Dec 20 to 21, received an encouraging response with participation from more than 90 children and teenagers, aged between eight and 16, from around the Limbang District.
The implementation of this programme is an annual initiative to provide free or subsidised circumcision services to eligible groups.
This year, the programme is being carried out simultaneously throughout Sarawak and is expected to receive recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).
