KUCHING: Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability and Demak Laut assemblyman, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, officiated at the opening of the Kampung Tabuan Hilir Multipurpose Hall on Saturday (Dec 20).
Named Datuk Dr Haji Hazland Hall, the facility can accommodate around 300 guests and recognises his contributions to the development of Demak Laut, including Kampung Tabuan Hilir.
Local residents said the hall would make it easier to hold various activities and events in a more organised and comfortable setting.
Planned activities include social, economic, educational, sports, cultural and religious events aimed at promoting community unity and well-being.
The RM500,000 project took nine months to complete, with residents expressing gratitude for Hazland’s significant allocation towards its construction.
The ceremony was attended by village chiefs, community leaders, and leaders of Kampung Tabuan Melayu organizations.
