KUCHING: The Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) is set to hand over eight fully completed school projects to the state Education Department in early January 2026.

In a statement, the department said the handover formed part of the Sarawak government’s continued efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure across the state.

The projects involved new and upgraded facilities at schools located in both urban and rural areas, aimed at providing safer, more comfortable and conducive learning environments.

The eight completed projects comprised SK Tabuan Jaya, SK Kampung Tanam in Dalat, SMK Luar Bandar in Miri, SK Ulu Pedanum, SK Nanga Serau, SK Kuala Annau, SK Sebemban and SK Ulu Binatang.

Sarawak PWD said the timely completion of the projects reflected its ongoing commitment to delivering quality public infrastructure that supports students and educators.

The department added that the projects would be formally handed over to the Sarawak Education Department for operational use once all final procedures were completed.
