Vehicle ends up in river, no occupants found

SIMANGGANG: A multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) was found partially submerged in a river at Kampung Melayu Skait here today (Jan 5), but no one was found at the scene.

The Fire and Rescue Department said they received an emergency call at 10.48 am from members of the public who reported a vehicle in the river, about 30 metres downstream from where it was believed to have entered the water.

Acting on information, firefighters from Sri Aman station were dispatched to the scene to carry out checks and further action.

Upon arrival, the team confirmed that a Perodua Alza had fallen into the river. Initial inspections found no occupants inside the vehicle.

The team also checked the surrounding riverbank to for possible survivors.

After confirming that no individuals were at the scene, the case was handed over to the police for further action.
