I Espied The Moon

The moon on the tree, she’s full and bright
As I espied her through the blinds tonight
O yes, she’s bulging tight with an obesity
‘Tis the time of the month, for such a vanity

Being bright and big, at this moon cycle time
There’s no cause for surprise, nor for rhyme
Though large and round, like a ball of light
She’s sits pretty, in the blinds just about right

A full moon, is a cue to prompt reflection
As you look out the windows at this lighted orb
Reflect on this moment in your life’s station
‘Tis reaching a culmination, a full resolve

Maybe, a project, relationship, or just a goal
Let the moon be a reminder, a mirror even
Of the progress that you have made in total
On what was achieved, or the lessons learnt

The Orb in the Blinds

A Volenti For Happiness

It’s morning, on the onset of a new day
A moment signifying, a withering away
Of the gloom of the darkness of night
And of the rising up of hope, with the sun
An important aspect, of this Earth-bound life
The moment of despair, giving way to hope!

Yes, it can be a very good morning indeed
So look forward to a great day ahead
With loved ones, who’d appreciate you most
With others too, who’re there in your life
Not by accident, their being there with you
See that they are being placed there, for you!

Show appreciation, to the others around you
Even to the strangers, you’d happen to meet
Know that Happiness, is a byproduct of: Appreciation, gratitude and contentment;
Based on how you view your life—
Not how your life is; so choose happiness!

Be reminded that this life, is not the all in all
You are here— actually, at your own choosing
For a moment’s interval, as you’ve chosen
A volenti to undergo this earthly bound test
To see if you’d return most triumphant:
Back to where you first came from!

Happiness Is From The Inside

Mother, a poem

I am your love personified
From your eyes, you cry my tears
From your throat, you slacken my thirst
From your heart, you embrace my being
So mother, you always have had me
And you have never left me
For in my heart you are enthroned
For Mother, you always have had me

The Way Of The Forest

The giant trees stand proudly tall
Hands reaching up to the sky in the fall
As if saying a prayer for all in the forest
For leadership is service made manifest

The natural world, is a web of connections
Intricate and comprehensive, and oft hidden
To maintain nature’s equilibrium, in balance
Mindful of the effects, of all interventions

A tree dies in the forest, and becomes a feast
Just as anything else, that dies in the forest
Each becomes food, for the others to digest
That is the way forest, where life is all a feast

Animals also become food, when they die
Their spirits gone to the happy hunting ground
Where all animals end up, after they die
The secret network of nature, is very sound

Life in the Forest, a feast

On The Road Taken

So the new year is here, ‘tis like an open path
One to traverse, into some unknown woods
Walk it down, letting it unfold before you
Accepting fate, to face whate’er comes along
For sure, we all have our own roads, to take

Each person’s life, ‘tis the given road to take
Walk where the heart leads, as the voice calls
Walk consciously, always mindful of doing it
Know that you are walking, towards yourself
Try to find out, who you are, whom others are

A story to be written, life is not a problem
A riddle to be solved, so write a good one
Write it well, for each moment of the day
For they come around only once, ‘em moments
Here now, and then gone forever, no return

Be present in each moment, making it count
Let God be your Co-author, you tag along
So a meaningful moment by moment life
A long walk on the road of life, one in hope
It will take you home, where you belong

Home is where the knowing smiles await
Where the warmth of the wood fire beckons
Home is where words are superfluous
It is where the heart truly belongs
Where a flower unfolds to true bloom

Though you may be gone, dear Mom and Dad
I can still feel your love, in the house you’d left
Yes, it may seem empty to the naked eyes
Many roads and multiple tracts have passed
I have now found, they all take us home

For home is where the heart truly belongs
Home is where the smiles generously await
Know, you’ll always arrive as you desired
For you have never left your true abode
The destination you sought, was with you

A fork in a village road inspired me to compose this poem, to reach to the Light within.
