MIRI: Police detained two local men suspected of trespassing in a residential area in Pujut, here.

The suspects were arrested at about 1.15 pm near Jalan Pujut Corner by a team led by Miri police station chief ASP Goldy Jangan, assisted by officers from the station’s Crime Prevention Unit.

Clothing believed to have been worn during the alleged offence was seized and will be treated as evidence.

Both men are being remanded at the Central Police Station lock-up as investigations proceed under Section 447 of the Penal Code, which deals with criminal trespass.

Police have issued a stern reminder to the public not to trespass or engage in other criminal acts that pose risks to personal safety and public order.
