Governor awards 147 at investiture ceremony

KUCHING: A total of 147 persons received state honours and awards during an investiture ceremony held at the Astana in Petra Jaya today (Jan 20).

Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar presented the awards to the recipients who were conferred the honours in conjunction with his recent birthday celebration. Also present at the ceremony was his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan headed the list of recipients. He was conferred the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK) award.

Other recipients in the same category included Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada, Sarawak Immigration Department director Abdul Halim Abang Naili, Inland Revenue Board Sarawak director Vijayen Nagalingham and Political Secretary to Sarawak Premier Abdul Samat Gany.

There were eight recipients of the public service award – Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC), comprising Division Residents and heads of state departments.

Three persons were awarded the Pingat Perwira Negeri (PPN) (Silver), while one recipient received the PPN (Bronze).

There were six recipients of the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) award, while 14 others received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK).

A total of 13 persons were awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB). Thirty-seven others received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) in recognition of their commendable public service.

Meanwhile, the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) and Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) were awarded to 12 individuals respectively.

In addition, 34 individuals were conferred the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS). The recipients comprised elected representatives, senior civil servants, professionals, community leaders and individuals recognised for their service and contributions to Sarawak.
