SARATOK: The Saratok Police Traffic Enforcement Investigation Division (BSPTD) conducted a total of 115 traffic enforcement operations throughout 2025, resulting in a significant increase in summonses issued compared with the previous year.
Police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the operations comprised Op Motosikal, Op Pelbagai, Op Perdagangan and Op Bersepadu Luaran, which were carried out to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic laws in the district.
He said a total of 2,746 summonses were issued during the year, an increase of 1,526 summonses compared with 2024.
“This shows a significant increase in enforcement action taken compared with the previous year,” he said.
He added that enforcement under Op Motosikal, which was conducted comprehensively to curb illegal street racing activities involving Mat Rempit, led to the seizure of 31 motorcycles in 2025 and previous years for various traffic offences.
“Op Motosikal was carried out in a total manner to eradicate Mat Rempit activities in Saratok,” he said, adding that motorcycles were seized for various offences.
Mathew said traffic enforcement operations would continue to ensure road users feel safe while travelling on roads in Saratok.
He added that road safety campaigns would also be intensified to raise public awareness on the importance of complying with traffic laws.
