KUCHING: Staff of the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) once again demonstrated their commitment to community welfare by participating in the Annual Blood Donation Campaign, held in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, expressed his appreciation to the Blood Bank for its continued partnership in organising the initiative, and commended MBKS personnel who voluntarily donated blood, describing their participaation as a noble act that directly helps save lives.

“Blood donation is one of the simplest yet most impactful acts of kindness. By donating blood, our staff become silent heroes who offer hope and a second chance at life to patients in critical need,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

He added that the strong turnout reflected the caring spirit and unity among MBKS staff in supporting the healthcare needs of the community.

Wee highlighted that the campaign aims not only to contribute to a stable blood supply, but also to raise public awareness on the importance of regular blood donation and encourage more healthy individuals to participate in this life-saving effort.

He also expressed his gratitude to the dedicated medical team from the Blood Bank of SGH for their professionalism and commitment in ensuring the smooth and safe conduct of the campaign.

The mayor said he hoped the collaboration would continue in the years ahead, as it plays a vital role in sustaining the blood supply while fostering a culture of care, generosity and community solidarity among the public.
