LAWAS: The Lawas Administrative Office Complex (AOC) is expected to be handed over to the Sarawak government as early as February, a move anticipated to enhance more integrated, systematic and efficient coordination of government services in the district.

Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, disclosed this during a site visit to inspect the final stages of the project’s completion on Saturday.

According to a briefing by the Limbang Division Public Works Department (PWD), construction of the Lawas AOC Complex is now in its final phase and progressing in line with the scheduled timeline.

During the visit, Abu Bakar also inspected the office spaces of various government agencies that will be housed in the 15-storey complex.

The centralised location is expected to enhance inter-departmental coordination, streamline administrative processes and make it easier for the public, particularly residents of the Lawas district, to deal with government agencies.

The development of the Lawas AOC Complex underscores the Sarawak government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening administrative infrastructure in the northern region of the state.

It also aligns with current demands, the expansion of the public service and the government’s aspiration to further improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery to the people.
