KUCHING: Construction of the TEGAS Lodge Sarawak (TLS) is set to begin in March this year.
Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Chairman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, said the RM72-million undertaking will serve as a key facility supporting the digital and innovation ecosystem.
“In terms of progress, we are on track to complete all major handovers by January, with construction expected to start around March 2026.
“Based on the current timeline, we are targeting the project to be completed by 2028,” said Len, who is Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, during the Shell LiveWire Malaysia 2025 National Award Ceremony officiated by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, yesterday.
Len added that in the coming months, their focus will be to finalise all necessary approvals and ensure the project is implemented smoothly.
“This aligns with our full commitment to ensure the project is successfully completed as scheduled for the benefit of Sarawak’s digital and innovation ecosystem,” he added.
Len said the lodge represents the second phase of the existing Tegas Digital Village and will provide lodging facilities along with supporting amenities such as a digital gym, wellness centre, prayer room, laundry facilities, and other essential services for users.
“Therefore, this project also aligns with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), particularly in strengthening talent development, fostering innovation, and advancing a future-ready digital economy,” he said.
The TLS project will be developed on a 15-acre site near the TEGAS Digital Village (TDV) here.
