KUCHING: Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Malaysia, Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, at his official residence in Petra Jaya here today.

The meeting focused on several strategic areas of cooperation, including halal product trade, palm oil exports and potential investments in Sarawak’s renewable energy sector.

Also present was Head of Chancery of the Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Muhammad Ameer Hassan Butt.

Discussions also covered potential collaboration in rice trade, labour supply as well as the tourism and cultural sectors as part of Sarawak’s proactive efforts to explore and expand global market opportunities.

Wan Junaidi said the visit could further strengthen economic synergy between Sarawak and Pakistan while opening avenues for new areas of cooperation that would bring mutual benefits to both sides.
