BAU: A road upgrading project linking Kampung Tabong to Kampung Sudoh here is underway to improve connectivity and drainage in the area.

Transport Deputy Minister, who is Tasik Biru state assemblyman, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep. conducted a site visit on Wednesday (Feb 5) to review the progress of the project.

The RM1.11-million project, funded under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), involves widening a two-kilometre stretch of road to five metres and upgrading it with a paved surface.

The project, which commenced in September 2025 and is scheduled for completion in July this year, also includes the construction of several culvert structures to improve drainage.

These include the installation of 1.5-metre diameter culverts at three locations and a twin box culvert measuring three metres at one location.

Once completed, the project is expected to reduce flood risks, improve water flow and enhance road safety and driving comfort for users.
