LUNDU: A total of 250 underprivileged families in the Tanjong Datu constituency received food baskets in conjunction with the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.
Tanjong Datu state assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, expressed his appreciation to PETRONAS through the ‘PETRONAS Memacu Kehidupan’ programme for selecting Tanjong Datu as one of the 45 districts in Sarawak involved in the implementation of the programme.
“I hope initiatives like this will continue in the future, including during other major celebrations such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Gawai Dayak, in line with the aspirations of the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, which emphasises the principles of inclusive development and comprehensive welfare,” he said when officiating the programme held at the Lundu District Community Hall recently.
Meanwhile, Azizul also extended his CNY greetings to those celebrating the festive occasion and advised members of the public returning to their hometowns to prioritise their safety while travelling.
