MIRI: A search and rescue (SAR) operation entered its second day today after a 32-year-old man is believed to have jumped into the river from Jambatan Lutong on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Jackson Dian Bobbry Ganing, has yet to be found. Initial information indicated he was believed to have been facing mental health issues.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said an emergency call was received at 1.11pm on Feb 11 on the incident near Kampung Pangkalan, Jalan Paragon, Lutong.
Preliminary information showed that at about 12.48pm, a motorcyclist passing the bridge saw the man standing at the edge before jumping into the river.
