KUCHING: Pullman Kuching welcomed 60 children and teachers from Peryatim Kuching to a special breaking-of-fast gathering, held in the spirit of Ramadhan.

The occasion also marked the launch of the hotel’s new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) umbrella, ‘Where Hope Rises’.

Titled ‘Senja di Puncak Harapan’, the evening brought together students from the orphanage, representatives from the Penan Women Project (PWP), members of the media and influencers, as well as hotel employees.

Set against the soft glow of dusk, the event created a warm and welcoming space for shared dining, performances and heartfelt interaction.

It reflected the hotel’s belief that true hospitality begins with people.

The initiative forms part of ‘Kongsi Kasih Bersama Pullman Kuching’, a seasonal DEI programme focused on meaningful community engagement during Ramadhan.

“‘Where Hope Rises’ is our way of being intentional about what DEI in hospitality should stand for. It is about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, respected and connected, not just during festive seasons, but throughout the year.

“Ramadhan felt like the right moment to introduce this commitment, because it reminds us that generosity, care and togetherness are values we share as a community,” said Pullman Kuching’s General Manager, Sunardi Song.

Beyond the launch evening, the hotel announced that RM10 from every Ramadhan buffet sold this year will be donated to support those in need.

Guests will also be able to purchase handwoven bags by the Penan Women Project, allowing direct community support to be part of the dining experience.

Throughout Ramadhan, guests can gather at Culina Pan-Asian Restaurant for Culina Bazaar Nights, a marketplace-inspired buffet featuring flavours from across Asia alongside Sarawakian favourites.

Available from 19 February to 20 March 2026, from 6.30pm daily, the buffet is priced at RM238+ (Adult), RM190+ (Senior) and RM119+ (Child).

Highlights include signature Kambing Golek and Bakar selections, as well as traditional Ramadhan desserts such as ABC, cendol and lemang.

“Inclusive hospitality is not about scale; it is about intention. When people from different walks of life can sit at the same table and share a moment together, that is when hospitality truly makes a difference,” he added.

The Ramadhan programme also aligns with the broader aspirations of Visit Malaysia 2026, which promotes travel experiences rooted in culture, community and authenticity.

As a long-standing hilltop landmark in Kuching, Pullman Kuching continues to serve as a meeting point for visitors and locals alike, offering hospitality shaped not only by cuisine and comfort, but also by shared values and meaningful partnerships.
