KUCHING: Hope FC is maintaining its rhythm with a series of friendlies, facing clubs such as Hipmau FC, to challenge players and refine their game.
The friendly against Hipmau FC proved to be a tightly contested affair, ending in a 2-2 draw.
Bryan Cheong, Hope FC team manager, said the club has always maintained a friendly relationship with Hipmau and holds massive respect for them.
“We have massive respect for their leadership team and the rest of the boys in their setup, and it’s always a great opportunity to test ourselves against a club of their calibre,” he told Sarawak Tribune.
Cheong pointed out that the draw was a close, competitive game and a fair result.
“A good test for our players at the end, playing a friendly of that intensity and sharing a pitch with players of that quality. Definitely some things to be proud of and some areas to work on, but overall, we’re happy with the game,” he added.
Earlier on Wednesday (Feb 11), Hope FC secured a 4-2 victory over Cascara Jr FC, further highlighting the squad’s growing cohesion and attacking sharpness.
The club will next face Mamba FC in their upcoming friendly on Saturday, February 14, at Field C, Petra Jaya.
These matches are part of Hope FC’s ongoing effort to maintain momentum and provide players with high-quality match experience.
Cheong also aims to build confidence and foster team chemistry ahead of more competitive fixtures.
