SIBURAN: The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) recognised four individuals with the “Hero Bomba” certificate during its February monthly assembly held at the Siburan station yesterday (Feb 23).

The certificates were presented in appreciation of their bravery and swift action in assisting firefighters during two separate fire incidents.

Two recipients, who are employees of SHELL Zuna Enterprise, had helped extinguish a vehicle fire along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway on Feb 6 this year.

The other two, employees of CCK, assisted in putting out a building fire in Siburan on April 9, 2025.

“Their bravery and swift response reflect strong volunteerism and the close collaboration between the public and the department,” said Sarawak Bomba director Jamri Masran, when officiating the assembly.

On the same note, Jamri expressed appreciation for the continued commitment and dedication of officers and personnel in safeguarding the community.

He also extended Chinese New Year and Ramadan greetings to those celebrating.

During the event, Jamri presented a Fire Certificate (FC) to Jeffrie Valentine Buku, representative of the Serian Resident’s Office, in recognition of compliance with fire safety requirements.

The ceremony was also attended by Sarawak Bomba deputy director Tiong Ling Hii and Zone 2 Samarahan chief Gawai John.
