Two injured in lorry crash near UCSI Hotel

KUCHING: Two men were injured after a lorry veered off the road near UCSI Hotel along Jalan Muara Tebas here this afternoon (Feb 24).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at about 1.46 pm.

A Bomba spokesperson said the accident involved two lorries, including a trailer which did not record any injuries.

The second lorry veered off the road, causing two occupants to be thrown out of the vehicle.

The victims were identified as Ah Chew Kwasin, 58, who suffered serious injuries, and Awang Ismawi Piee, 47, who sustained a fractured left arm.

Both were taken to a nearby hospital by Red Crescent ambulance personnel.

No rescue operation was required by firefighters.
