KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has channelled RM1,782,437.05 in business zakat for 2025 to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS), reflecting its continued commitment to community welfare and inclusive development.

The contribution was presented by LCDA general manager Datuk Zaidi Mahdi, representing the LCDA Group of Companies, to TBS general manager Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie during the LCDA Darul Hana 2026 Iftar ceremony on Tuesday (Feb 24) evening.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at the event, which was held in conjunction with LCDA’s 45th anniversary celebration themed ‘45 Tahun LCDA Bersama Komuniti’.

During the ceremony, Abang Johari also presented Hari Raya contributions amounting to RM25,000 to 125 recipients from 13 villages within the Darul Hana Development Project area, with each recipient receiving RM200.

The event was attended by about 700 guests and served as a platform to acknowledge the support and cooperation of LCDA staff, community leaders, government agencies, departments and media partners throughout the authority’s 45-year journey.

LCDA said the programme reflects its ongoing commitment to work closely with communities in driving inclusive and sustainable development in Darul Hana, in line with its role as a people-centric development agency.

“The ceremony is part of LCDA’s annual corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at easing the burden of those in need during Ramadan and in preparation for Aidilfitri, while also recognising the continued support of stakeholders, including the media, in ensuring the success of the Darul Hana Development Project,” it said.

Also present were the Premier’s daughter Dayang Norjihan, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and wife, deputy ministers and their spouses, LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain and wife, as well as community leaders, heads of departments, media practitioners and LCDA staff.
