KUCHING: A motorcycle and a car were seized during ‘Ops Pemandu Warga Asing (PEWA)’ conducted by the Road Transport Department (RTD) around the city on Tuesday (Feb 24).

Sarawak RTD said both vehicles were driven by foreign nationals without valid driving licences.

A total of 558 vehicles of various types were inspected during the operation, which was carried out through patrols and monitoring activities.

The offences detected were driving without a valid licence, expired Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), lack of insurance coverage and other technical violations involving vehicle conditions.

The department said it would not compromise with any road users found violating traffic laws and reminded motorists to ensure their licences and vehicle documents are valid before travelling.
