SIMUNJAN: A 67-year-old man died after he was crushed by a concrete block at a construction site at SK Sageng here today.
The victim, identified as Chai Mui Kiong, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a report at 2.08 pm, and personnel from the Simunjan station arrived at the location at 2.14 pm.
The victim, who was a construction site worker, was believed to have been crushed by a concrete block used for load testing at the project site.
Firefighters extricated the victim from the concrete structure and handed him over to the police for further action.
The situation was brought under control at 2.18 pm and concluded at 2.48 pm.
