KUCHING: A lorry was seized during an Ops Gempur Kenderaan Perdagangan enforcement operation carried out by the Road Transport Department (RTD) today (Mar 3).
Sarawak RTD said the vehicle was stopped for inspection during patrols and monitoring around the city.
Further checks found multiple serious offences, including the driver not possessing a Competent Driving Licence (CDL) and Goods Driving Licence (GDL).
The vehicle was also found to have an expired Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) since May 13, 2024, expired insurance coverage since May 18, 2024, and an expired PUSPAKOM inspection since May 13, 2024.
“Notices of non-compliance were issued for the offences detected, and the lorry was seized for further action,” it said.
The department said enforcement operations would continue to ensure compliance with road laws, particularly involving commercial vehicles, for the safety of road users.
